Red Light Therapy
Red Light Therapy
Photobiomodulation, more commonly known as Light Therapy, has become popular for good reason — it really works to promote healing.
It involves exposing the skin to specific wavelengths of light in order to help with a variety of conditions. This non-invasive treatment stimulates cellular activity to reduce inflammation, enhance tissue repair and relieve pain. Light therapy is commonly used for orthopedic conditions, wound healing, and dermatological issues.
Red Light Therapy on the face can be a great add-on to your acupuncture treatment so you can get some skin rejuvenation and extra mood enhancement. We use it with all cosmetic acupuncture treatments to promote collagen and elastin, and we also use it for wound healing. If acne is a concern, a course of Blue Light Therapy might be a good choice for you.
We also use devices that emit infrared radiation to penetrate the body’s tissues in conjunction with acupuncture. This gentle heat promotes circulation and relaxes muscles to help reduce pain and inflammation.
In our office, we use:
Celluma (Red, Blue and Near-Infrared)
FlexBeam Near-Infrared
TDP Far-Infrared Lamp
Low-Level Laser Pens
